Dr. Marwa Assar, PsyD

Psycho-Spiritual Teacher & Founder of The H.O.M.E Institute

Dr. Marwa Assar is a psychologist, psycho-spiritual teacher, and founder of The H.O.M.E . Institute, which is named after her Heart Over Mind & Ego (H.O.M.E.) Method to psycho-spiritual wellness. Dr. Marwa specializes in psycho-spiritual wellness that is approached through an Islamic psychological lens. She has received a Bachelors Degree (B.A.) in Psychology, a Masters of Education (ED.M) in Counseling Psychology, and a Doctoral degree (Psy.D) in Applied Clinical Psychology. Alongside her constant pursuit of Islamic studies, Dr. Marwa has dedicated 15 years to extensiviely exploring Islamic Psychology and has completed a doctoral research study on “An Islamic Psychological Approach to Psychotherapy,” in 2017. In addition, she has over 10 years of experience in providing therapy to diverse populations in various settings, from private practice, schools, a drug rehab facility, to county clinics. Today, she teaches at The H.O.M.E. Institute and serves part time as a psychologist at the Islamic Center of NYU (ICNYU).
